My personal tips on how to eliminate stress on the day before your wedding

The Big Day is tomorrow! Congratulations hun! There are a few things you should think about and will save you from crying of frustration, screaming at your wedding planner or getting drunk at 10 am and I promise these tips will help you enjoy every moment of this beautiful day of your life with your loved ones.

First and most important, get all the sleep!

I’m sure you are super excited/scared/emotional the day before, I know I’ve been there too, but you have to sleep. Period. There are many ways to help yourself to relax and slow down. Here are a few tips:

  • Lavender essential oil

Put some drops on your pillow or use a diffuser.

  • Epsom Salt bath

Not only charges you up with with magnesium that eases stress, relaxes your muscles it improves your nerve functions too.

Get some ME time!

Go inwards! Meditate! Rest! Lay down and close your eyes for a second! You should not have excuse on this one. Ask for someone’s help or carve out, if 5 minutes, than 5 minutes, to just sit and allow yourself to have the experience and emotions you feel right now. Be grateful, thankful, curious and let go of expectations. Everything will happen exactly the way it has to! Own the emotions by reminding yourself  how amazingly lucky you are.

Don’t compare yourself to other brides/grooms!

And don’t compare yourself to others ever! But it is so easy to get caught up on those Instagram photos and make you feel like you are not that beautiful, worthy, wealthy..blahblah. Let me tell you something! You are perfect! You are enough! Don’t listen to the whispers of your shadow self. Here is something that always pulls me back on my path and also helped me before my wedding day:

“You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.”

– Louise L. Hay

Sip on some healing tea

I recommend Traditional Medicinals – Nighty Night tea, along their other tea blends this one saved me many times to have a great sleep in times of overexcitement/stress.

Minimize phone calls!

Everything that needed to be done, should be done by now. If not, maybe you don’t even need them. Your wedding planner is in charge for everything, let him do the amazing job he is doing. Let your family and friends know that you need some time to rest. Ask your bestie to answer your phone calls. It can be so overwhelming and draining to answer all the phone calls and messages on everyday basis too which doesn’t bring you anywhere close to the relaxed state you are working on.

Do whatever feels honestly good for you that helps to get ready for the day to celebrate your relationship with your Love. Think about it as an amazing opportunity to practice to listen to yourself. It can be getting a massage, napping the whole day, doing yoga, eating all the greens, blasting music and dancing around, screaming as loud as you can… anything that nourishes your mind+body+soul. For me it was sipping on a giant cup of tea, journaling, doing some breath exercises and chatting with my husband (to be on the next day).
